Ethics Policy Background

Ethics Policy

Our commitment to accountability, democratic oversight, and responsible deployment of cyber intelligence capabilities

Accountability

Threats evolve faster than traditional investigative tools can keep pace. Preserving the balance between individual privacy and public safety defines our business ethos.

As end-to-end encryption becomes the default across consumer and enterprise platforms, the gap between what adversaries can conceal and what democratic institutions can lawfully uncover continues to widen. The United States and its allies cannot afford to fall behind. Maintaining national security in this environment demands cyber intelligence tools purpose-built to operate within encrypted channels and deployed under strict democratic oversight.

Who We Are

REDLattice was founded on a single conviction: democratic societies must never lose the ability to confront serious security threats, no matter how encrypted the landscape becomes. We develop the most advanced lawful access and cyber intelligence capabilities available exclusively for a highly selective group of vetted government agencies operating within democratic governments.

REDLattice partners only with governments that commit to using our capabilities responsibly and solely for their intended, lawful purposes.

Accountability by Design

At REDLattice, oversight is not an afterthought; it is architecture. Accountability, access controls, and compliance measures are embedded into every layer of our operational and technological infrastructure. Our approach to enforcing ethical principles operates across three integrated realms: customer controls, legal controls, and technological safeguards.

Together, these mechanisms ensure that every deployment of our technology is traceable, governed, and aligned with the democratic values our customers have agreed to uphold.

Rigorous Vetting

Access to REDLattice's capabilities is governed by one of the most selective oversight frameworks in the industry. Before any sale to a law enforcement or intelligence agency, REDLattice independently conducts comprehensive due diligence, building a detailed profile of the prospective government's human rights record, democratic institutions, and adherence to the rule of law.

Our vetting process draws on authoritative third-party sources, including the U.S. Department of State's annual country reports on human rights practices, to identify and evaluate risk areas. Prospective customers are assessed against defined thresholds across these criteria; governments that do not meet our standards are not engaged.

Responsible Deployment, Continuous Governance

Our commitment does not end at the point of sale. Through controlled deployment frameworks and continuous governance processes, REDLattice monitors ongoing use against the standards agreed at the point of sale. Where credible evidence of misuse or a material deterioration in a government's human rights standing is identified, REDLattice reserves the right and the ability to restrict or terminate access. In confirmed cases of misuse, REDLattice will take appropriate corrective action, which may include suspension of capabilities, notification of relevant authorities, and permanent termination of the relationship.
